I can work with clients for short focused counselling or longer-term psychotherapeutic work. I also offer what is known as Emotional Freedom Technique or Tapping.  This is a gentle and soothing complimentary treatment that promotes healing and embeds talking therapy.

‘Counselling’ describes talking therapy that is used for problem focused work over a short-term period. This usually means working on one or more specific, named issues for a time-limited period.  

‘Psychotherapy’ tends to be used when looking at more deep-seated psychological issues that are often rooted in past experiences (particularly in childhood) and can last months or sometimes years, depending on what works for the client. Initially, some start counselling to deal with a specific problem but continue their work over a longer period in order to gain greater self-awareness and healing.
